Peter Müller grew up in Beromünster and has stayed in the beautiful eastern part of Switzerland since graduating from the University of St.Gallen. When he started his first job as Economic Promoter of the Canton of St.Gallen in 1993, his mentor Jakob Göldi (the then Head of KIGA – Cantonal Office for Industry, Trade and Labour) taught him all about the business landscape of Eastern Switzerland and about the joys and sorrows of local businesses. In 1995, he embraced the Internet age, playing a major part in the development of the cross-border online platform Electronic Mall Bodensee, before later becoming its managing director. Prior to that, he also worked as a project manager at the Institute for Media and Communications Management at the University of St.Gallen (MCM-HSG). In 2000, he became the managing director of the e-government and e-business start-up, youTS. In 2004 he was made Head of Sales at Ruf Informatik AG – the Swiss market leader for community software. In the course of the Bologna Process, in October 2005, Peter took over as the head of the FHS St.Gallen’s Knowledge Transfer Unit.
