SmartCoping

A mobile health application for stress recognition and reduction based on smart phones and sensor devices that record vital signs and contextual data

The research project SmartCoping is developing a mobile solution aimed at the early recognition and monitoring of stress. For this purpose, heart rate variability data – a good indicator for stress – and possibly other vital parameters such as skin conductivity are continuously captured by means of non-invasive sensors and communicated to a smartphone, where they are visualised to provide feedback about personal stress levels. At the same time contextual and activity information will be gathered by internal smartphone sensors. To recognise patterns in the data streams users will give feedback about their stress level. Based on this feedback the system discerns those patterns in the input data that correlate strongest with situations associated with high stress levels
