Study structure

The Master’s Programme in Business Information Technology at the FHS St.Gallen builds on the knowledge acquired during the Bachelor’s Programme in Business Information Technology.

Since the start of the 2016 academic year, the Master’s Programme in Business Information Technology has consisted of the following three module groups:

Compulsory modules Business Information Technology (36 ECTS):

In seven modules, the students are familiarised with additional concepts relating to relevant business IT topics.

Elective modules (18 ECTS):

Students can set specific priorities by choosing elective modules. Most of the elective modules can be chosen freely in the corresponding semesters, giving the students a high degree of flexibility.

Compulsory modules Scientific Work (36 ECTS):

Scientific work and practical projects are accompanying modules that enable the students to improve their methodical research skills and apply them in practice during all semesters. The course is completed with a separate scientific assignment in the form of the Master’s thesis.
