The practical component for FHS students amounts to 20%. Each year, they work in teams on more than 240 practical projects for companies and organisations. These projects are organised by the Knowledge Transfer Office (WTT-FHS).
The projects benefit both the students and the companies: the students hone their practical skills on an ongoing basis while also obtaining a work experience certificate that is well-respected in the labour market; the companies, on the other hand, receive detailed answers to their specific questions. This hands-on experience in the context of practical projects is unique in Switzerland.
The best student teams on the practical projects are recognised at the annual WTT Young Leader Award.
