Tongji China
Tongji University and WTT-FHS have a corporate consulting project called "Consulting Project China". In doing so, a mixed project team with three students from School of Economics and Management (SEM) from Tongji University and three students from FHS St. Gallen, Department Management work on a corporate project for a company in Shanghai. SEM and WTT-FHS built up their corporation and the corporate consulting project program "Consulting Project China" in 2007.Tongji University is one of the most famous universities in the People's Republic of China. As a main focus university, they are subordinate direct to the Chinese Department of Education and belong therefore to the 33 universities, which should be building to world-famous universities (concerning Project 985).
The university now registers over 54,000 students at all levels from certificate and diploma courses to Bachelor's Degrees, Masters, PhD programs and post doctoral attachments. There are over 4800 academic staff for teaching and/or research, among whom there are 6 Members of Chinese Academy of Science, 7 Members of Chinese Academy of Engineering, over 710 professors and 1500 associate professors. The university offers diverse courses in its 82 Bachelor's Degrees, 218 Masters, 94 PhD programs and 16 post doctoral mobile stations. As one of the state leading centers for scientific research, the university has 22 state key laboratories and engineering research centers.
The Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress approved the nomination of the university president, Prof. Wan Gang of April 27th 2007 as Minister of Science and Technology.
WTT-FHS cooperate with School of Economics and Management (SEM), which has about 5'000 students on all academic levels. In the years 2008 and 2009 there are realized projects with the Chinese subsidiaries from Schindler, Geberit and Sonova (Phonak).
